What is the offer built on?

If you see a healing claim, ask whether the evidence comes from people with the same problem.

Animal study ≠ Human result

An animal result has limits

Much of the BPC-157 healing work is in rats; it cannot stand in for results in people.

An injury claim needs human results

People with knee pain have received BPC-157 in a small study, but it had no group for comparison. By September 2026, no completed study in injured people had reported results comparing BPC-157 with a pretend treatment. A study with that comparison was still seeking volunteers, with no results yet in September 2026.

A pretend treatment contains none of the substance being tested. Researchers use it to compare what happens with and without that substance.

Small studies leave open questions

FDA’s review, checked in September 2026, said the small, short studies in people could not show whether BPC-157 is safe.

Look past the label

A prescription is not the whole answer

If a clinic says a pharmacy can make it for you, ask what made to order means.

Compounding means a pharmacist or doctor makes or mixes a medicine to order.

Made to order is not a mark of approval

As of September 2026, made-to-order medicines were not FDA-approved. Before these medicines go on sale, FDA does not review their quality, risks or how well they work.

FDA explanation · compounding

Taking back a request does not make it legal

Groups had asked FDA to let pharmacies make medicine from BPC-157 raw ingredients. FDA’s page marked current through April 22, 2026 lists those requests as taken back.

As of October 30, 2026, HHS's draft says it plans to hold off on enforcement against a state-licensed pharmacy or licensed physician making BPC-157 alone for one patient's prescription, with conditions.

Where care begins

Have the health concern assessed

Start by contacting your usual doctor’s office, or look for a licensed clinic that offers online visits for your health concern. Ask whether it can assess that problem and which doctor would see you.

Bring a short list of what changed, what you want help with, and the medicines or supplements you use.

Licensed telehealth care

Telehealth lets you have a health visit over video, over the phone, or through an exchange online.

As of September 2026, your location during the visit determined which state’s licence or other legal permission the doctor needed to provide care.

The state medical board, the body that licenses doctors, keeps public licence records.

Before paying, request the state record along with the doctor’s full name.

An in-person assessment

National advice for state medical boards calls for the doctor to arrange tests or an in-person visit when online care needs those checks.

Ask which part of your concern needs a physical exam, and how the next visit would fit into the plan.
